Alexandria, La., Feb. 28, 2018 — Tiffany J. Howard, a native of Avoyelles Parish, has been selected as the Interim Dean of the Ward H. Nash Avoyelles Campus of Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC).
In her new role, Howard will manage day-to-day campus operations, build relationships with business and industry, and serve as a resource for students and the community during evening and weekend activities. Howard assumed her new duties in late January.
Howard will continue to serve as Workforce Project Manager in the college’s Workforce Development Division where she manages workforce programs, including a $2 million transportation grant from the U.S. Department of Labor under their Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grants program. While managing TAACCCT grant funds as well as other grants, Howard spearheaded accreditation efforts for the Collision Repair Technology program at the Alexandria Campus. The program received accreditation from the National Automotive Technician’s Education Foundation (NATEF) in 2017, making it the only NATEF accredited program in Central Louisiana.
Before joining CLTCC, Howard held several positions in state government, including Nutrition Educator Supervisor for LSU/SU AgCenters, CPA for the WIC program, and Policy Advisor for Louisiana Department of Hospitals.
Howard received her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Systems Management from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, and she received her master’s degree in Public Administration from Southern University in Baton Rouge.
“We are excited Ms. Howard has agreed to serve in this new role on an interim basis,” said Chancellor Jimmy Sawtelle. “Avoyelles Parish is her hometown, so she is well-equipped to engage with the community and business and industry to build awareness of the educational and workforce training opportunities available at the campus.”
“I am very proud and humbled by this opportunity to serve the students, community, and businesses in Avoyelles Parish,” said Howard. “My work as a project manager has given me a sense urgency and a vision that I plan to incorporate into the culture of the Ward H. Nash Avoyelles Campus.”
