Course Description
Our Certified Power Line worker training lets you master real-world skills in a hands-on environment, where you'll learn skills like operating industrial vehicles, pole-climbing, cable laying and stringing, line testing and inspecting, and safety procedures. 

Curriculum provided by Institute for Safety in Powerline Construction.

Eligibility Requirements

  • 18 years old by the end of the 16 week cohort
  • High School Diploma, HiSET, GED preferred (industry preference)
  • Must pass background check and drug screen (for CDL)
  • Valid LA Driver's License with no flags
  • Student will secure learner's permit prior to starting CDL class

Class Details

  • 16 weeks of Power Lineworker, first
  • Monday-Thursday, 7am-5:30pm
  • 6 weeks of CDL instruction, after Lineworker course
  • Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
  • Classes are held exclusively at the Alexandria Mac Arthur campus. 
  • Students may secure CDL license from any campus or another driving school prior to or after Power Lineworker
  • Lineworker and CDL are two separate classes, requiring separate student registrations, payments, and financial agreements
