Industry-based credentials (IBCs) are certifications created by industries to confirm that individuals have mastered the critical skills necessary to be effective employees in a specific set of work tasks, a single occupational area, or a cluster of related occupational areas as recognized by a specific industry. IBCs include both technical skills and workplace skills. IBCs give you an advantage when applying for entry-level jobs. The requirements for IBCs vary and depend on the industry.
